Airbus to deliver three H225 helicopters to the Japan Coast Guard
In Japan, there are currently 24 H225 helicopters operated by Japan's Ministry of Defence and parapublic operators.

Airbus Helicopters has secured an order for three additional H225 helicopters from Japan Coast Guard for fleet expansion bringing its total H225 fleet to 18 aircraft having received three helicopters between December 2023 and February 2024.

Airbus Helicopters and The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) have signed an agreement to expand JCS’s fleet with an additional order for three H225 helicopters, bringing its total H225 fleet to 18 aircraft. As the largest Super Puma operator in Japan, the JCG has been actively utilizing Super Puma family helicopters for three decades. The new helicopters, received in December 2023 and February 2024, will support a range of critical missions including territorial coastal activities, maritime law enforcement, and disaster relief efforts across the country.

The H225, part of the Super Puma family, is renowned for its high performance in challenging conditions, exceptional range, and payload capacity. It has undergone continuous improvement, now featuring new avionics with large screens and an innovative interface that reduces pilot workload, allowing them to concentrate on mission execution. With the industry’s best range, speed, payload, and reliability in its category, the H225 can be customized with various equipment to fulfill diverse roles effectively.
