Airbus will deliver 60 additional A320neo jets to SMBC Aviation Capital, bringing its total orders to nearly 340 jets ensuring a continuous delivery stream beyond the end of the decade. 

Airbus has signed a new order for 60 A320neo Family aircraft with SMBC Aviation Capital, a leading aircraft lessor bringing its total orders for this type to nearly 340 jets. This order ensures a continuous delivery stream for SMBC Aviation Capital beyond the end of the decade and strengthens the longstanding strategic partnership between Airbus and SMBC Aviation Capital. SMBC Aviation Capital has ordered an additional 60 A320neo Family aircraft.

With existing orders, this ensures a continuous delivery stream for SMBC Aviation Capital well beyond the end of the decade. The order is seen as a testament to the sustained global demand for technologically advanced and fuel-efficient aircraft. It comes amid the ongoing strong recovery in air travel worldwide.

This order deepens the strategic partnership between Airbus and SMBC Aviation Capital on the A320neo Family program. SMBC Aviation Capital has been a key customer for Airbus, and this new order underscores the lessor’s confidence in the A320neo Family aircraft. The A320neo Family, known for its unbeatable seat mile cost, offers airlines the flexibility to expand their networks, including new longer-haul routes that were not previously possible with a single-aisle jetliner. This flexibility contributes to the aircraft’s popularity among airlines.
