RECARO Aircraft Seating has secured a deal with airBaltic to provide its innovative R2 seats for the airline’s Airbus A220-300 aircraft. Delivery is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2026. The airBaltic fleet is set to undergo an upgrade with the installation of RECARO seats configured in a 148-seat cabin layout. The design will showcase a contemporary light grey and white dress cover, aligning with airBaltic’s emphasis on a clean and sophisticated cabin atmosphere. These seats are meticulously arranged to optimize living space and augment passenger comfort.

The R2 seat not only promises an elevated travel experience for passengers but also offers environmental and economic advantages to the airline. Featuring an innovative lightweight structure, the R2 underscores RECARO’s dedication to sustainability. Furthermore, its reliability aligns with airBaltic’s cost-efficiency objectives by reducing the aircraft’s overall weight, resulting in decreased fuel consumption and minimized maintenance expenses throughout the seat’s lifecycle.

Mark Hiller, CEO of RECARO Aircraft Seating and RECARO Holding Said “Teaming up with airBaltic marks an exciting opportunity for us at RECARO. Our R2 will elevate passenger comfort within the airBaltic cabin to new levels, and I am confident this collaboration is the beginning of a long-lasting partnership.”Comfort features of the selected seats include an enhanced cushion for the seat bottom and backrest, an integrated headrest, and the modern convenience of USB-C power at each seat. These elements are designed to enhance the well-being and connectivity of passengers during their flight.
