Air France-KLM signs five year agreement to maintain Volotea A-320 fleet .
The A320 has a maintenance schedule with corrosion prevention and control programme being an integral part of its airframe checks with line maintenance and the usual removal of heavy components, line replaceable unit (LRU) components and interior work.

The maintenance will be performed by Aerotechnics Industries, a specialized joint venture operating within Air France- KLM Engineering & Maintenance’s global MRO network.

Volotea, the air carrier interfacing mid- sized European cities, will send its A320 airplane to Air France Industries KLM Engineering and Maintenance for a complete airframe administration, principally to be done throughout the winter seasons. This first agreement will be in force for five and a half years’ time from January 2023.

The agreement incorporates two full nose to tail maintenance lines for winter support season. AFI KLM E&M is chosen to perform 120 C-Checks after a comprehensive bidding process that exhibited the importance and excellent of its airframe maintenance services. Contingent upon operational conditions, C-checks, typically performed every 2 years, comprise of the inspection, overhaul, maintenance and replacement of aircraft parts, also include preventive maintenance.

Volotea is currently based in 18 medium-sized European capitals: Asturias, Athens, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Cagliari, Hamburg, Lille (opening in April 2022), Lyon (opening in 2021), Lourdes (opening in July 2022), Marseille, Nantes, Naples, Olbia, Palermo, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Venice, and Verona. Volotea serves in excess of 100 cities in 16 nations; the airline will operate a fleet of 41 airplanes in 2022, up from 36 in summer 2019.
