Air Canada has welcomed the ratification of a new four-year collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW), covering approximately 11,000 employees in its Technical Operations, Maintenance and Operational Support (TMOS) group.
The agreement, which is effective from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2030, applies to employees across Technical Operations, Airports and Cargo, Logistics and Supply, and Cabin Services.
Air Canada President and CEO Michael Rousseau said the successful conclusion of negotiations reflects the shared commitment of both parties to support employees while strengthening the airline’s long-term growth strategy.
“The commitment shown by both Air Canada and the IAMAW throughout these negotiations reflects our shared objective of reaching meaningful agreements that support our employees and the company’s continued growth. A key priority for us was further acknowledging the skilled expertise and valuable contributions of our TMOS employees,” Rousseau said.
He added that with new agreements now in place across all of Air Canada’s major labour groups following the expiration of previous long-term contracts, the airline is well positioned to advance its New Frontiers strategic plan and create greater value for customers, employees and stakeholders.

The IAMAW represents more than 11,000 employees within Air Canada’s TMOS group, in addition to Finance and Clerical staff under separate collective agreements.
The latest ratification marks the sixth collective agreement concluded by Air Canada in 2026. Earlier this year, the airline reached new agreements with approximately 170 Finance employees represented by IAMAW, 115 Clerical employees represented by IAMAW, around 6,000 Customer Service employees represented by Unifor, 100 Flight Operations Crew Schedulers represented by Unifor, and 90 In-Flight Crew Schedulers represented by Unifor.
The new agreement provides labour stability for one of the airline’s largest employee groups and supports Air Canada’s ongoing operational and strategic growth initiatives through 2030.
