Aeronaves TSM picks Universal Avionics for MD-80 and DC-9 cargo jet’s cockpit refurbish.
The McDonnell Douglas MD-80 is a series of single-aisle airliners developed by McDonnell Douglas and The McDonnell Douglas DC-9 (initially the Douglas DC-9) is an American single-aisle airliner designed by the Douglas Aircraft Company.

Universal Avionics providing complete cockpit upgrades for 15 McDonnell Douglas MD-80s and 11 DC-9s will modernize the airplane, make operational savings, and meet ADS-B consistence with cutting edge network.

Universal Avionics (UA), an Elbit Systems Company, has been chosen by Aeronaves TSM to supply cockpit overhauls on 15 McDonnell Douglas MD-80s and 11 Douglas DC-9 airplanes. The expansion of Universal SBAS-Flight Management Systems (FMS) works on the effectiveness of freight activities with Localizer Performance with Vertical direction (LPV), among others, while carrying wellbeing improvements and consistence with the Automatic Dependence Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) orders.

All inclusive SBAS-FMS is the NextGen connectivity stage giving high level route capacities, for example, LPV and Required Navigation Performance down to 0.1nm, high level connection points for information correspondences, for example, Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) and Departure Clearances (DCL), and advanced safety and situational mindfulness. Alongside operational enhancements and savings for MD-80 and DC-9 airplanes, redesigns additionally meet new ADS-B commands with traffic, climate, and flight data administrations. More than 1,100 business airplanes are in activity today with Universal FMS.
