The Czech aerospace industry is witnessing substantial growth, prompting Aero, the largest Czech aerospace manufacturer, to expand its partnerships. Aero has announced an increase in cooperation with Brazilian company Embraer and European company Airbus. Over the next six years, production for Embraer will quadruple, while leading-edge production for Airbus will more than triple within three years. To accommodate this growth, Aero plans to hire 80 additional employees.

Luboš Tejkl, Executive Vice President & Chief People Officer of Aero, said, “The Czech labor market is suffering from a shortage of workers, so we decided to look for a solution abroad. We have managed to find 78 workers from the Philippines, who will gradually join us by the end of August and become our core employees. We still believe that local candidates will be interested in this prestigious and well-paid job.”

The collaboration between Aero and Embraer, which began in 2011, is set for a significant boost. Aero currently produces wing leading edges, doors, cargo ramps, and fuselage parts for Embraer’s C-390 transport aircraft. Production is slated to rise from 4.5 sets this year to 7 sets in 2025, reaching up to 10 sets by 2030. Similarly, Aero’s 15-year partnership with Airbus is expanding. Production of leading edges for the Airbus A220 will increase by about 30 pairs each year. By 2026, Aero aims to produce 160 pairs, tripling its output compared to 2023.

Viktor Sotona, Aero’s Chairman and CEO, said, “The government’s purchase of Embraer C-390 aircraft is a great opportunity for the Czech aerospace industry, and both major civil programs are excellent examples of functional, long-standing industrial cooperation, where customer confidence has led to significant volume growth. Aerostructures programs are thus becoming a strategically recognized pillar of Aero’s revenue alongside L-39NG production. The next challenge is to focus on increasing productivity by applying mass production procedures and control methods similar to those in the automotive industry.”
