Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) recently completed the redelivery of an AEI Boeing B737-800SF freighter to Serve Air, a company based in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This marks the second AEI B737-800SF aircraft that Serve Air has added to its fleet. Serve Air is the first operator of AEI B737-800SF freighters in the Democratic Republic of Congo and plans to expand its fleet to include a total of six of these aircraft in the near future.

The conversion work, including touch labor and maintenance, was carried out by AEI’s authorized Conversion Center, Commercial Jet, located in Dothan, Alabama.

The AEI B737-800SF freighter boasts a main deck payload capacity of up to 52,700 lbs. (23,904 kg) and features eleven full-height container positions measuring 88” x 125”, along with an additional position for an AEP/AEH. The conversion also includes new floor beams aft of the wing box and a spacious 86” x 137” Main Cargo Door equipped with a single vent door system.

AEI’s innovative design ensures that containers can be loaded into the aircraft 16.5” aft of the forward door jamb, providing ample room for ground operators and reducing the risk of door and aircraft strikes. Moreover, the AEI B737-800SF comes with a flexible Ancra Cargo Loading System, a sturdy 9g barrier, five standard supernumerary seats, a galley, and a full lavatory.
