Acron Aviation to supply flight recording systems for Deutsche Aircraft’s D328eco

Acron Aviation has signed a long-term supply agreement with Deutsche Aircraft to provide flight recording and standby instrumentation systems for the next-generation D328eco regional turboprop, strengthening the aircraft’s supplier ecosystem as it advances toward certification and entry into service.

Under the agreement, the Florida-based avionics specialist will supply its 25-hour flight recorder and standby instrumentation systems for the D328eco programme. The systems are designed to support regulatory compliance, enhance flight safety and provide critical operational data throughout an aircraft’s service life.

The 25-hour flight recorder meets the latest certification requirements by capturing extended cockpit voice and flight data, supporting accident investigations, maintenance analysis and operational performance monitoring. The standby instrumentation system provides pilots with essential flight information in the event of primary cockpit display failures, enhancing operational safety.

Deutsche Aircraft said the partnership forms an important part of its long-term supplier strategy as the D328eco progresses through development, certification and industrialisation.

The 40-seat D328eco is being developed as a modern successor to the Dornier 328, incorporating upgraded propulsion systems, advanced avionics and improved manufacturing technologies to deliver lower fuel consumption and reduced operating costs for regional airlines.

Aircraft production will take place at Deutsche Aircraft’s carbon-neutral final assembly facility at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany, which is expected to produce up to 48 aircraft annually at full production capacity. The D328eco is scheduled to begin flight testing in 2026, with entry into service targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027.

“This agreement represents more than a supplier relationship; it is the beginning of a long-term partnership built on shared values, innovation and a commitment to advancing regional aviation,” said Ron Nye, President of Acron Aviation.

Patricia Ferrari, Vice President of Supply Chain at Deutsche Aircraft, said the agreement reflects the company’s strategy of establishing long-term partnerships with suppliers of safety-critical systems as the D328eco programme moves toward certification and production.

The collaboration highlights the growing importance of integrated avionics and OEM-supplier partnerships in supporting aircraft certification, enhancing maintainability and ensuring long-term aftermarket support for next-generation regional aircraft programmes.
