Abra Group has expanded its partnership with CFM International by ordering 100 LEAP-1A engines to power 50 Airbus A320neo family aircraft allocated to Avianca, while also signing a long-term services agreement covering the fleets of both Avianca and GOL.
The engine order will equip 50 previously unassigned aircraft from Avianca’s remaining A320neo family order and includes additional spare engines to support fleet operations. The accompanying long-term services agreement also extends maintenance and support coverage to GOL’s Boeing 737 MAX fleet, strengthening engine reliability and operational efficiency across the group’s airlines.
Upon completion of all aircraft deliveries, Abra Group‘s combined Avianca and GOL operations will comprise more than 650 LEAP-powered aircraft, including those already in service and on order. This will make Abra Group the largest operator of CFM LEAP engines in Latin America. The airlines will also continue operating a significant fleet powered by CFM56 engines.
The expanded partnership reinforces Abra Group’s strategy of maintaining a modern, fuel-efficient fleet while enhancing maintenance planning, operational reliability and long-term cost efficiency across its airline portfolio.
