AAR CORP, a leading aviation services provider, has announced that its subsidiary AAR Supply Chain will acquire nine Boeing 757-200 passenger aircraft and 18 Rolls-Royce RB211 engines from American Airlines. The assets were most recently operated by American Airlines and the acquisition is expected to enhance AAR’s support for the RB211-powered 757 cargo market.

The acquisition of these aircraft and engines is part of AAR’s strategic investment plan aimed at expanding its portfolio of aircraft and engine assets. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of AAR’s fiscal year 2023, subject to customary closing conditions. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

According to Brian Salvatori, AAR’s Vice President of Asset Trading, the acquisition of these aircraft and engines will enable the company to continue its support of the RB211-powered 757 cargo market.
