The new 114,000-square-foot facility will be located adjacent to AAR’s existing hangar at Miami International Airport and is set to increase maintenance capacity at the company’s airframe MRO by 33%.

AAR CORP., a leading provider of aviation services to commercial and government operators, MROs, and OEMs, celebrated a significant milestone today by breaking ground on its new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Miami. The groundbreaking ceremony, attended by over 400 guests, marked the beginning of construction for the new facility, which will bolster AAR’s capacity to serve its customers in the aviation industry. With the groundbreaking of its new MRO facility in Miami, AAR demonstrates its commitment to expanding its capabilities and enhancing its service offerings to meet the evolving needs of the aviation industry.

“As a leader in international passengers and cargo, MIA is one of the busiest and best mega airports in the country – and AAR’s significant infrastructure investment only advances our local aviation industry,” said Daniella Levine Cava, County Mayor, Miami-Dade. “This expansion will strengthen the robust training and repair programs AAR is known for and bring more than 200 new jobs to Miami-Dade County,” he further added.

The new 114,000-square-foot facility will be located adjacent to AAR’s existing hangar at Miami International Airport and is set to increase maintenance capacity at the company’s airframe MRO by 33%. It will feature three bays and support a dedicated narrow-body maintenance commitment from United Airlines. Additionally, the project is expected to create over 200 new jobs in Miami.

Miami-Dade County has committed to reimbursing the cost of constructing the facility, with operations projected to commence in October 2025.
