AS350 SimulatorTraining At Airbus Helicopters INC.

New for our Canadian Customers, the Training Department at Airbus Helicopters Canada has created a VFR Training Syllabus reflecting the needs of our Operators. Airbus Helicopters Inc. provides simulators onsite in Dallas, TX and one of Airbus Helicopters Canada’s authorized simulator instructors can accompany your group for training if required.

Taping into previous experiences with simulator operations, we’ve developed 3 (one hour) VFR sessions in the AS350 B2 & B3 simulator. This is useful for emergencies and operations at diverse altitude and gross weight. Simulator training can demonstrate emergencies that cannot be performed in an aircraft, either because of aircraft limitations and/or it could jeopardize the safety of the aircraft and its occupants. In the simulator we are able to demonstrate VEMD & FADEC failures, governor high & low side failures, diverse tail rotor failures in flight and in hover as well as, inadvertent flight into IMC.

Simulator training demonstrates to the pilot actual cockpit indicators and aircraft response to a particular failure. The pilot can also activate corresponding switches that a procedure calls for, to manipulate them, thus improving retention.

We hope that this particular training method will be of interest to you as a Canadian Operator, as safety is of the utmost importance to the entire Airbus Helicopters team.
