27 August 2020: Vancouver Airport Authority has signed a 5 year contract with GTA dnata joint venture to provide safe ramp, passenger and cargo warehousing services to airlines. This contract comes at a time when dnata is planning to spread its roots in Canada. Earlier this year, dnata started their flight catering operations at Vancouver International Airport in a state-of-art facility with a capacity of serving about 8,000 inflight meals a day.

With the signing of this latest contract, GTA dnata will be recognised as one of the leading air service providers in Canada. dnata acquired 50 per cent stake in GTA Aviation’s cargo and ground handling operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport in 2016, thus paving entry into the Canadian market. Since then they have invested consistently in their team, infrastructure and equipment and delivers reliable air services with a team of 700 dedicated employees.

Thrilled at receiving the contract Mario D’Urso, GTA dnata’s chairman said, “The time is right for us to make this move, as our commitment to safety, quality and service excellence is now more important than ever. We thank the Vancouver Airport Authority for this opportunity and look forward to a successful start-up and much future success.”

GTA dnata will begin operations at the Vancouver airport in the fourth quarter of 2020. GTA dnata is a trusted partner of 17 airlines in Toronto, have assisted 1.2 million passengers and moved over 90,000 tons of cargo at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in 2019.
