Sean Menke Joins JetBlue Airways' Board of Directors
Sean career spans over two decades in the airline industry, including CEO roles at Frontier Airlines and Pinnacle Airlines, as well as senior positions at Air Canada and Hawaiian Airlines.

Sean Menke, an aviation veteran with two decades of experience in lead executive roles across various companies is all set to join Jet Blue’s board of directors, effective immediately. he appointment was approved unanimously by the company’s board. Menke served as executive chair of Sabre Corp. from early 2022 until April 2024.

Excited to work on the next chapter of JetBlue Seam Menke said: “My role will involve helping JetBlue evolve to meet the challenges of a changed landscape and enhance its performance to benefit crewmembers, customers, and shareholders.”

Before his role at Sabre, Menke served as the president and chief executive of Sabre from 2016 to 2023. His career spans over two decades in the airline industry, including leadership roles such as chief executive, Frontier Airlines and Pinnacle Airlines, and senior positions at Air Canada and Hawaiian Airlines.

Happy to have Menke onboard, Peter Boneparth, chairman, JetBlue’s board of directors applauded Menke’s career path. “His extensive industry experience will be crucial as we work to enhance JetBlue’s operations for the benefit of our crewmembers, customers, and shareholders.”

Joanna Geraghty, chief executive, JetBlue, added: “Sean’s background in strategy, planning, marketing, operations, revenue management, and distribution will be instrumental as we advance our JetForward strategy. We anticipate leveraging his insights to drive our business forward.”

Menke holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Aviation Management from Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business.

Following Menke’s appointment, JetBlue’s board will consist of 13 members, 12 of whom are independent. The board recently saw the resignation of B. Ben Baldanza, who stepped down for personal reasons after serving since 2018.
