GAMECO made significant investments in C919-related training for engineering and line maintenance personnel, tooling and equipment, and spare parts.

China’s Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company Limited (GAMECO) is all geared to provide MRO support to China Southern Airlines’ fleet of Comac C919s. The MRO received its CCAR-145 Maintenance Organization Certificate in early August 2024, marking a significant milestone in GAMECO’s journey to support China’s in-house aircraft maintenance needs.

GAMECO made significant investments into C919-related training for engineering and line maintenance personnel, tooling and equipment, and spare parts as a part of the process to gain the necessary approvals and provide MRO support for China Southern fleet. The MRO has come a long way in building on the support capabilities for the indigenious narrowbody.

Highlighting GAMECO’s contribution to the development of China’s civil aviation industry, Gan Yongjun, deputy general manager, GAMECO says: “Moving forward, we will continue to enhance our technical expertise and service quality to ensure the safe and efficient operation of China’s indigenously-developed aircraft.”

China Southern Airlines’ first C919 (B-919J) arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. After being greeted with a water cannon salute, B-919J taxied to the maintenance area of GAMECO.
