Gulfstream G400 completes first flight, sets new standards
The G400 offers three floor plans for up to 12 passengers, featuring fresh air purified by a plasma ionization system.

Gulfstream G400 achieves Mach 0.85 and 41,000 feet on its maiden flight, setting new benchmarks in performance, efficiency, and comfort.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has announced the successful first flight of the all-new Gulfstream G400, officially initiating its flight test program. This milestone further enhances Gulfstream’s ultramodern, high-technology family of next-generation aircraft. The G400 sets a new standard by delivering unparalleled performance and exceptional comfort in its segment.

The G400 departed from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport at 9:04 a.m. and returned 2 hours and 54 minutes later. During the flight, it achieved a speed of Mach 0.85 and an altitude of 41,000 feet (12,497 meters). Notably, the aircraft completed this mission using a blend of sustainable aviation fuel sourced from Gulfstream’s Savannah campus.

The G400 demonstrates exceptional performance and efficiency, thanks to Gulfstream’s aerodynamic clean-wing design and advanced Pratt & Whitney Canada PW812GA engines. Additionally, the aircraft incorporates next-generation avionics to enhance its capabilities. It can fly 4,200 nautical miles (7,778 kilometers) at Mach 0.85. Furthermore, it is equipped with Gulfstream’s award-winning Symmetry Flight Deck and Predictive Landing Performance System, which improve flight safety and pilot situational awareness. The G400 also features the advanced high-speed wing and winglet, initially introduced on the Gulfstream G500 and G600, which significantly boost efficiency.

The G400 offers customers a choice of three floorplans, accommodating up to nine, 11, or 12 passengers. It provides the signature Gulfstream Cabin Experience, featuring 100% fresh air purified by a plasma ionization clean air system. Additionally, the cabin has the lowest altitude in its class and is illuminated by 10 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows.
