MD Helicopters Secures $19 Million Support Contract with Saudi Army National Guard
The deal includes a base year of service with the option for four additional years, reflecting the long-term commitment to sustaining the operational readiness of the helicopters.

This contract ensures comprehensive support for SANG’s 12 MD530F helicopters, including parts, repair, overhaul, and on-site technical assistance.

MD Helicopters LLC (MDH) has announced the signing of a significant 5-year support contract valued at $19 million with the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG). This agreement ensures comprehensive maintenance and support for SANG’s fleet of 12 MD530F helicopters used for flight training.

Under this contract, MDH will provide a range of critical services including spare parts, repair and overhaul, as well as in-country technical and logistical support. The deal includes a base year of service with the option for four additional years, reflecting the long-term commitment to sustaining the operational readiness of the helicopters.

As part of the agreement, MDH will deploy a field service representative and a logistics technician to Saudi Arabia to oversee fleet maintenance and parts management, ensuring that SANG’s aircraft are well-supported and operational at all times. Additionally, the contract encompasses the provision of necessary aircraft materials to maintain the current fleet’s performance.

Ryan Weeks, President, MD Helicopters, said, “The Saudi Arabian National Guard is a long time MD customer, and it is our privilege to be their preferred partner for ensuring timely and cost-effective maintenance of the fleet By working directly with MD, SANG will experience increased responsiveness, faster turn times, and higher quality work, which translates into time and money savings.”

Previously, the MD530F fleet was maintained by an in-country contractor. In response to SANG’s request for improved maintenance quality and material support, MDH will now offer direct OEM support. This shift is expected to enhance maintenance standards, streamline parts acquisition, and reduce both costs and downtime.

MDH’s on-site team will deliver expert support and assistance with materials, allowing SANG to operate more efficiently and remain highly responsive to the needs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Already, MDH staff are on the ground providing support, with over $1 million worth of spare parts scheduled for delivery this month, marking the beginning of a robust partnership aimed at optimizing the fleet’s performance.
