The first narrowbody aircraft of Air India with new livery and all-new cabin interiors enters service recently on the Delhi-Bengaluru route. This marks a new chapter for Air India, demonstrating its commitment to upgrading products and providing a world-class flying experience. The A320neo aircraft, bearing registration mark VT-RTN, arrived in Delhi from Airbus Headquarters in Toulouse on 7 July 2024. Recently, the aircraft operated its first commercial flight AI813 from Delhi to Bengaluru. It is scheduled to operate three more flights on the same route throughout the day.

Air India’s new A320neo aircraft is configured with three cabins: Business, Premium Economy, and Economy, ensuring comfort and style for passengers. The Business class cabin features eight luxurious seats with 40 inches of seat pitch, 7 inches of recline, leg rest, footrest, and movable armrest. Additionally, passengers benefit from a 4-way adjustable headrest and an extendable tray table equipped with a PED holder. The Premium Economy cabin offers 24 extra legroom seats in a 3-3 configuration across four rows, each with 32 inches of seat pitch, 4 inches of recline, and amenities like a 4-way adjustable headrest and PED holder. In the Economy cabin, passengers can expect ergonomically designed seats in a 3-3 layout, offering 28-29 inches of seat pitch, 4-inch recline, and practical features such as a PED holder and coat hook.

The airline is implementing a comprehensive plan to retrofit its remaining narrowbody aircraft over the coming year. Simultaneously, new Airbus deliveries will feature a standardized three-cabin configuration, equipped with a total of 164 seats provided by Collins Aerospace. These cabins include eight seats in business class, 24 in premium economy, and 132 in Economy, all designed to enhance passenger comfort and experience.

Key enhancements include cabin mood lighting, wider seat pitch, PED holders, and USB ports across all cabins. Business class offers a spacious 40-inch pitch, seven-inch recline, and exclusive amenities such as adjustable armrests and multiple charging ports. Economy class, with a 28-29 inch pitch and four-inch recline similar to premium economy, ensures a comfortable travel experience for all passengers.

Deploying the new A320neo on domestic routes shows Air India’s dedication to improving product offerings and guest experiences. Additionally, This effort aligns seamlessly with its initiatives on international routes. Concurrently, the airline’s recently introduced Boeing 777s with upgraded cabins and new Airbus A350-900s serve key destinations such as the US, UAE, and UK. Furthermore, The A320neo will expand its service network across more Indian locations, advancing Air India’s travel experience enhancement strategy.
