Embraer and Horizon Air have entered into a contract for the Embraer Collaborative Inventory Planning (ECIP), a tailored program for managing expendables spare parts inventory. This initiative is designed to help customers like Horizon Air reduce operational costs by optimizing inventory levels. The agreement specifically covers support for 41 E175 aircraft from Horizon Air’s fleet operating at its hub in Portland, Oregon. Additionally, the contract includes nine E175s that are yet to be delivered, bringing the total covered aircraft to 50. These jets are operated by Horizon Air under the Alaska Airlines flag.

ECIP provides several benefits to customers. One significant advantage is that Embraer shoulders most of the inventory investment, substantially reducing the financial burden typically borne by airlines. Moreover, the program offers fixed yearly pricing for each part, enabling customers to manage costs more accurately while enjoying guaranteed performance levels from Embraer Services & Support. The operation is data-driven, leveraging advanced software and Embraer’s planning expertise to generate weekly ordering recommendations based on customer usage and stock-level data. This collaborative approach ensures precise inventory management tailored to each customer’s needs.

“We are very pleased to welcome Horizon Air to the Embraer Collaborative Inventory Planning. ECIP was designed to help our customers gain efficiency and reduce inventory costs in all operations. This is even more important for airlines with large fleets and fast growth like Horizon Air”, said Carlos Naufel, President and CEO, Embraer Services & Support.

In addition, airlines participating in ECIP can leverage Embraer’s materials management proficiency and tap into a global logistics network known for its best-in-class performance.
