Air India, founded by the legendary JRD Tata, has been a pioneer in India’s aviation sector since its first flight on October 15, 1932. Over the years, Air India has established an extensive domestic network and offers non-stop flights to cities worldwide, including the USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Far-East, South-East Asia, Australia, and the Gulf.

After 69 years as a government-owned enterprise, Air India and Air India Express rejoined the Tata group in January 2022. This move has set Air India on a transformative path under the Vihaan.AI initiative, aimed at evolving into a world-class airline with an Indian essence. The first phase of this transformation, known as the taxi phase, recently concluded with a focus on rectifying foundational aspects such as bringing long-grounded aircraft back into service, talent acquisition across flying and ground functions, rapid technological upgrades, and bolstering customer care initiatives.
