Edvinas Demenius, who has been a board member and Chief Commercial Officer of SmartLynx Airlines for over seven years, will assume the role starting February 15 2024.

SmartLynx Airlines, a leading ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance), cargo, and charter provider and a part of the Avia Solutions Group, has announced the appointment of Edvinas Demenius as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Edvinas Demenius, who has been a board member and Chief Commercial Officer of SmartLynx Airlines for over seven years, will assume the role starting February 15 2024.

In 2023, SmartLynx Airlines reported a record year with a notable increase in demand for ACMI passenger services in Europe. The airline conducted 48% more flights and carried 53% more passengers compared to the previous year. The fleet was expanded from 49 to 67 aircraft, and SmartLynx Airlines plans to continue its growth, aiming to reach a fleet of 100 aircraft by 2026.

SmartLynx Airlines, founded in 1992, is recognized as a full-service aircraft leasing, freight, and charter services provider. The airline operates Airbus A320, A321, A321F, A330, and Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. It is part of the Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI provider with a total fleet of 199 aircraft. The Avia Solutions Group offers a range of aviation services, including MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul), pilot and crew training, ground handling, and various related services, employing over 11,700 aviation professionals from 85 countries.
