Honeywell signs wheels and brakes support contract for Emirates A380 fleet

Honeywell's advanced design capabilities, encompassing structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis, contribute to the efficiency and safety of its wheels and braking systems.

The 10-year agreement encompasses the supply of advanced wheel and brake designs for 116 Airbus A380 jets by Honeywell, aiming to reduce weight, lower maintenance costs, and extend the overall life of the braking system.

Honeywell has been selected by Emirates to provide wheels and carbon brakes for its extensive fleet of 116 Airbus A380 aircraft. The 10-year agreement encompasses the supply of advanced wheel and brake designs by Honeywell, aiming to reduce weight, lower maintenance costs, and extend the overall life of the braking system.  Under the terms of the agreement, maintenance of the wheels and brakes will be conducted through Emirates maintenance shops, ensuring that the airline receives continuous and localized support in Dubai. This approach aligns with the broader trend in the aviation industry, where airlines are increasingly opting for comprehensive maintenance solutions to streamline operations.

Honeywell’s advanced wheel and brake designs are engineered to be lightweight, contributing to enhanced fuel efficiency and operational performance. The innovative designs not only reduce the weight but also aim to lower maintenance costs, a critical consideration for airlines operating large fleets. The braking systems provided by Honeywell are designed for longevity, promoting extended brake life.
