Carlos Naufel, is set to assume the role of Vice President of Services & Support at Embraer, effective from September 1, 2023.

Embraer, the Brazilian aerospace company, has announced a key executive appointment that underscores its commitment to enhancing its services and support division. Carlos Naufel, who currently serves as the Technical Director of Azul Linhas Aéreas, is set to assume the role of Vice President of Services & Support at Embraer, effective from September 1, 2023. Before joining Azul, Naufel spent over 18 years at Embraer, where he held diverse roles within the service and support domain. Notably, between 2017 and 2019, he served as the Vice President of Technical Solutions, overseeing maintenance engineering, fleet performance, and technical support for Commercial, Executive, and Defense Aviation customers.

“Naufel combines a successful history in Embraer’s services area with customer vision and broad technical knowledge,” said Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO, Embraer. “I’m confident he will continue the ongoing transformation in the area and accelerate the profitable growth of the business,” he further added.

Carlos Naufel brings a wealth of aviation experience to his new role, having accumulated 27 years in the industry. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Business from FAAP University in São Paulo, along with several specializations. At Azul Linhas Aéreas, Naufel has been at the helm of the Technical Department for nearly five years, overseeing more than 2,000 employees across various domains including engineering, maintenance (both line and heavy maintenance), quality, and logistics. He has been instrumental in leading Azul TecOps, a newly established business unit aimed at selling services.

 “I helped to shape the Embraer Services and Support area together with Johann Bordais, and over the last several years, I’ve had the privilege to successfully run Azul’s technical, quality and logistical areas, dealing with several other aircraft manufacturers in a very complex airline environment with nearly 1,000 flights a day. Recently, Azul was named the World’s Best Airline by Trip Advisor and the World’s Most On-Time Airline by Cirium,” said Carlos Naufel, Technical Director, Azul Linhas Aéreas. “I am thrilled to bring back all this knowledge and expertise to Embraer to help shape the future of the services business unit increasing customer satisfaction as well as business results,” he further added.
