Air bp, a leading aviation fuel supplier, is making strategic moves in Brazil to enhance its operations and contribute to the country’s growing aviation market. The company’s recent announcement coincides with the launch of operations at a new supply hub located in Paulínia, São Paulo. The hub, set to begin operations later in 2023, aims to provide increased logistics flexibility and options for customers, especially in the São Paulo state and Central-West regions, which are significant for the agricultural sector.

This new hub aligns with Air bp’s revamped strategy unveiled in 2022, which designates Brazil as a focal point for investments and growth due to its status as a strategic priority market for the company. The hub’s strategic location and improved logistics aim to optimize fuel distribution, enhance customer service, and generate synergies within bp’s broader fuel businesses.

“We are very proud of this new supply point in the interior of São Paulo. In addition to our traditional excellence in service and safety in operations, we will offer greater logistical efficiency and better delivery for our customers”, said Ricardo Paganini, president, Air bp South America.

Air bp holds a significant presence in Brazil, operating in 40 locations including key airports like Guarulhos, Viracopos, and Galeão. The company’s strategic focus on Brazil underscores its commitment to sustainable aviation. It aims to be a preferred energy partner for sustainable aviation, recognizing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as a crucial element in achieving the aviation industry’s net-zero emissions goal.

Air bp’s active involvement in the SAF sector is evident through its innovative projects. The company recently announced the first sale of International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) EU SAF from bp’s Castellon refinery in Spain. This SAF, produced from waste-based sustainable feedstock, aligns with Air bp’s commitment to advancing sustainable alternatives since 2008.
