Wizz Air, Europe’s rapidly expanding, budget-friendly airline, has signed an agreement with Airbus to acquire 75 A321neo family aircraft. Valuing the strong alliance with Airbus, József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air expressed, ‘We have enjoyed a longstanding strategic partnership with Airbus and are steadfast in our commitment to this exceptional technology with one of the largest outstanding order books in the world of more than 350 Neo aircraft.’

Currently, Wizz Air is Airbus’ largest member having purchased 434 single aisle A321neo aircraft, taking their fleet of the A320 Family to 565 airplanes – about which the company has expressed significant confidence in relying upon. In 2019, Wizz Air crossed the 200+ million passengers mark, as a preferred airline carrier for affordable travel within Europe, and a huge reach to 150 destinations in more than 40 countries.

Airbus aircraft and helicopters operate using a blend of up to 50% SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel). Airbus normatively advocates for the extensive growth of the SAF ecosystem. For more than ten years, the aircraft manufacturer actively engaged in certifying new fuel pathways, conducting demonstration projects and flights, and advocating for SAF at a political level.

Additionally, Airbus’ aircraft A321neos integrate state-of-the-art engines and Sharklets, resulting in a 50 percent decrease in noise, noted as a promising achievement in global aviation. It offers a 20 percent improvement in fuel efficiency and CO2 reduction when contrasted with earlier generations of single-aisle aircraft.
