The delivery of Turkish Airlines' first A320neo in 2022 marked a significant milestone in their ongoing fleet modernization efforts.

The six Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, powered by CFM International Leap-1B engines, are part of CDB Aviation’s existing orderbook with Boeing and will be delivered in 2024 and 2025.

CDB Aviation, an Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing, has announced the signing of lease agreements with Turkish Airlines for a series of six Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The aircraft, powered by CFM International Leap-1B engines, are part of CDB Aviation’s existing orderbook with Boeing and will be delivered in 2024 and 2025.

The lease agreements highlight the strong partnership between CDB Aviation and Turkish Airlines, the flag carrier of Türkiye. The addition of these aircraft will support Turkish Airlines’ sustainability-focused initiatives, as the 737 MAX 8 is known for its high efficiency and reduced environmental footprint. By modernizing its fleet with these aircraft, Turkish Airlines aims to achieve its ambitious sustainability goals and enhance the travel experience for its passengers.

Chen further emphasized that these efficient aircraft will bring Turkish Airlines closer to achieving their sustainability goals, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact.

With the lease agreements, CDB Aviation will expand its fleet on lease to Turkish Airlines, reaching a total of nine aircraft, including a 737-800, a 777-300ER, and an Airbus A320neo. The delivery of Turkish Airlines’ first A320neo in 2022 marked a significant milestone in their ongoing fleet modernization efforts.
