Lufthansa Technik to provide CAMO and aircraft engineering services for JetSMART Airbus A320 fleet.
To ensure the best possible service, Lufthansa Technik has set up onsite support for the customer in Santiago de Chile.

The five-year Lufthansa Technik contract includes support for CAMO and Engineering Services, maintenance support, modification and component management for 25 Airbus A320 jets.

Lufthansa Technik, a global leader in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), has announced a new partnership with Chilean airline JetSMART. The five-year contract includes extensive support for Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) and Aircraft Engineering Services, covering maintenance program support, modification and component management for 25 Airbus A320 family aircraft. The collaboration has already begun and is expected to rapidly expand with the airline’s planned growth until 2027. To ensure the best possible service, Lufthansa Technik has set up onsite support for the customer in Santiago de Chile.

Georgios Ouzounidis, Vice President of Corporate Sales Americas at Lufthansa Technik, expressed his pride in welcoming JetSMART among the company’s customers. Estuardo Ortiz, CEO at JetSMART, expressed appreciation for Lufthansa Technik’s expertise in aircraft engineering services, and said that the airline was looking for a partner that could support their growth and provide safe and stable processes.

JetSMART Airlines is an ultra-low-cost airline with domestic operations in Chile, Argentina and Peru, and 77 routes throughout South America, serving Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay and Uruguay. The airline has carried more than 19 million passengers and has a brand new fleet of Airbus A320s and A321s. JetSMART is part of the portfolio of the US fund Indigo Partners, which also includes Frontier in the USA, Wizz Air in Europe, Volaris in Mexico, Lynx in Canada and Cebu Pacific in Asia.

We were looking for a partner that can support our growth, is flexible enough to adapt to our AOC setup and is providing safe and stable processes,” he further added.

JetSMART offers an extensive point-to-point route network, including several SMART routes, connecting secondary cities on direct flights in the region and offering ultra-low fares. The airline is led by a top-notch team with multiple nationalities and many years of experience in the domestic and global airline market.

After the first weeks of cooperation, both sides are very satisfied. “Engineering and CAMO are mission-critical areas,” says Christian Dieckert, Head of Engineering Services, Lufthansa Technik. “We are therefore very pleased with the trust JetSMART has placed in us and, of course, with the positive feedback we are receiving from our new partners,” he further added.
