Brussels Airlines names Dorothea von Boxberg as CEO 

Dorothea von Boxberg was in charge of designing the customer experience at Lufthansa Airlines starting in 2012.

Dorothea von Boxberg in her new position at Brussels Airlines will perform the duties of “Representative of the Executive Board to the European Commission”.

Brussels Airlines has announced the appointment of Dorothea von Boxberg as the new CEO of Brussels Airlines. Dorothea von Boxberg, who is presently the Chairperson of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Cargo AG, will take over in Belgium as of April 15, 2023, subject to the Board of Directors of SN Airholding making a decision. Additionally, she will perform the duties of “Representative of the Executive Board to the European Commission” in her new position.

With her extensive knowledge and broad understanding of cargo and passenger airlines, she will continue to drive the successful transformation of Brussels Airlines, Belgium’s national airline, in the coming years,” said Christina Foerster, Member of the Executive Board of the Lufthansa Group and Chair of the Board of Directors, SN Airholding.

The long-term replacement for Lufthansa Cargo’s Dorothea von Boxberg will be revealed as soon as feasible. In 1999, Dorothea von Boxberg started working for the Boston Consulting Group. Dorothea von Boxberg relocated to the Lufthansa Group in 2007 and has since held a number of management roles there. She was in charge of designing the customer experience at Lufthansa Airlines starting in 2012. 

She and her team during this period unveiled a new generation of Business Class seats. Dorothea von Boxberg joined Lufthansa Cargo AG in 2015 and became the organisation’s director of global sales management. She was named to the Lufthansa Cargo AG Executive Board in 2018. She was initially in charge of worldwide sales, network planning, product management, and product development. As of 2021, she has served as Chairperson of the Executive Board for Lufthansa Cargo AG.
