Iberia Maintenance to support V2500 engines powering HK Express A320ceo and A321ceo fleet
Iberia Maintenance, with the support of International Airlines Group (IAG), commenced working on the IAE capability to service the V2500 engine.

Iberia Maintenance will provide services for the HK Express A320ceo and A321ceo V2500 engine Efficiency improvements, such as the extension of Engine Repair in-house capability.

Iberia Maintenance has signed a long-term maintenance contract with HK Express, a fully-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong home carrier Cathay Pacific. According to the agreement, Iberia Maintenance will maintain the 32 V2500 engines powering the low-cost carrier’s Airbus A320ceo and A321ceo fleet.

Iberia Maintenance will provide services for the V2500 engine Efficiency improvements, such as the extension of Engine Repair in-house capability, work scope adjustments to ensure shop visit optimization and Used Serviceable Material (USM) sourcing from the market.

At the end of 2012, Iberia Maintenance, with the support of the International Airlines Group (IAG), commenced working on the International Aero Engines (IAE) capability to service the V2500 engine. In 2015, the company obtained Pratt & Whitney’s license for the V2500 engine MRO and joined the network of IAE, which distributes its customers’ engines for repair and overhaul to network partners. At that time, Iberia Maintenance became the first non-IAE member workshop to overhaul V2500 engines.

Iberia Maintenance Engine Shop specializes in CFM56, V2500 and RB211 engines and provides services to a worldwide customer base of airlines, OEMs and the wider Industry, being V2500 more than half of the current workload. In October 2022, the company obtained the license to service Pratt & Whitney GTF engines. The first engine will be inducted in 2023.
