GoAir signs contract for 72 A320neo aircraft

GoAir, a Wadia Group company, has signed a contract for 72 A320neo aircraft following its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed during the Farnborough International Airshow. The agreement reached on 30th December 2016, doubling GoAir’s firm order for aircraft type to 144.

GoAir took delivery of its first A320neo in June 2016 and now operates a fleet of twenty three aircraft. With the introduction of NEO, Go Air will expand its network and continue its growth as one of India’s low-cost airline.

This new order will further strengthen our network by adding more domestic and international routes in the years to come,” said GoAir MD & CEO, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer.

GoAir was the first airline to use A320neo in the Spaceflex configuration with 186 seats. Latest technologies like new generation engines and Sharklet wing tip devices, which together deliver more than 15 percent in fuel savings from day one and 20 percent by 2020 with cabin innovations are some of the features of A320neo Family.

The A320neo Family is the world’s best-selling single aisle product line with over almost 60 percent share of the market. All members of the A320neo Family offer unmatched comfort in all classes and Airbus’ 18” wide seats in economy as standard. To date, 68 A320neo aircraft have been delivered to 17 operators.
