Norse Atlantic Airways picks Rolls-Royce for Boeing 787 fleet maintenance.
The Trent 1000 engine on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is capable of flying on blends of up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

Rolls-Royce TotalCare service covers predictive maintenance (off-wing) planning, work scope creation and management, and off-wing repair activities.

Norwegian low-cost, long-haul airline, Norse Atlantic Airways has announced the signing of a TotalCare services agreement with Rolls-Royce for its fleet of 15 Trent 1000-powered Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. By going for the TotalCare maintenance option, Norse Atlantic Airways has opted to transfer the management of engine maintenance, along with its associated risks and cost, to Rolls-Royce.

Ewen McDonald, Chief Customer Officer – Civil Aerospace, Rolls-Royce said, “We are delighted to welcome Norse Atlantic Airways to the TotalCare family and we are looking forward to providing their fleet of 15 Trent 1000 powered Boeing 787 Dreamliners with reliable and predictable maintenance services under our TotalCare package.”

The Trent 1000 engine has the ability to deliver exceptional fuel burn performance on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and is already capable of flying on blends of up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Rolls-Royce also aims to also demonstrate Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s compatibility with 100% SAF by 2023.

This important agreement will contribute to the reliability of our fleet and the sustainability of our business”.

Norse Atlantic Airways joins the long list of other Rolls-Royce customers who have also chosen TotalCare. Rolls-Royce claims that currently, around 90 percent of airlines make this choice when purchasing Trent engines.
