Orders flowed throughout the day at Dubai Airshow 2021.

17 November 2021: Orders flowed throughout the day with airlines such as Jazeera, Afrijet, Ibom and Air Tanzania putting pen to paper. The big one was Indian start-up low-cost carrier Akasa Air ordering 72 737 Maxes from Boeing.

AFI KLM E&M and Gulf Air, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, signed a full engine support contract for the CFM56-5B engines for all Airbus A320ceo fleet. With the signing of the contract for the component support for Gulf Air’s entire A320 fleet, the signing of this engine maintenance contract further affirms the operator’s confidence in AFI KLM E&M’s adaptive solutions. This full engine support contract includes shop visits, fleet engineering, condition monitoring, spare support and other additional services.

SAUDIA, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, announced that its upcoming fleet of 35 Airbus A321neo and Airbus A321XLR aircraft will offer the GX Aviation high-speed inflight broadband solution by Inmarsat.

Russian Helicopters Holding Company and the Emirati company AJ Holding LLC have established a joint venture Alpha Aviation LLC in the Ajman Free Zone. The new company will promote and sell Russian civil helicopters abroad.

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) covering 25 A220-300s, 55 A321neos, 20 A321XLRs, four A330neos and includes seven A350Fs.

Airbus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jazeera Airways, the Kuwait-based carrier, for 20 A320neos and eight A321neos. 

Leasing company Sanad, wholly-owned by Mubadala Investment Company PJSC (Mubadala), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KSA-based Middle East Propulsion Company (MEPC) to enhance the regional presence and service reach of both companies. The MoU will see a collaboration between both companies in joint capabilities across advanced aero-engine repairs

SR Technics announced it has signed an engine services agreement with Constellation Aviation Services LLC to provide engine MRO services for their CFM56-5B engines powering the luxurious A318-112 Elite aircraft.

Embraer has announced a firm order for three new E175s, plus three purchase rights for the same model of aircraft, with Overland Airways, from Nigeria.
